Specialization to Youth and Adolescent Care
I've always been drawn to the unique challenges and opportunities of working with young people. As a youth and adolescent care counsellor, I am deeply committed to providing them with the guidance and support they need to thrive during these critical formative years.
Helena is our registered therapist working in play therapy and working with children, adolescents, and families. With a deep understanding of child development, she employs play as a therapeutic tool, enabling young clients to express their thoughts and feelings in a natural and constructive manner. This approach allows children to communicate and process experiences that they may struggle to articulate verbally.
Helena fosters a safe and supportive environment, whether in-person or through telehealth sessions, ensuring that each child feels comfortable to explore their emotions. By using creative techniques, such as art, storytelling, and role-playing, she helps children and adolescents navigate challenges, improve self-esteem, and build social skills.
In family therapy sessions, Helena focuses on enhancing communication and understanding within the family unit. She works collaboratively to identify patterns of interaction and foster healthier dynamics. Through guided discussions and interactive activities, families learn to engage with one another more effectively.
Helena’s flexibility in offering both in-person and telehealth appointments makes her services accessible to a broader range of clients. Whether families prefer the face-to-face interaction of in-person sessions or the convenience of telehealth, Helena tailors her approach to meet their unique needs. Her commitment to supporting children and families in their therapeutic journey reflects a holistic approach to wellness, promoting emotional health and resilience for all involved.
